Aftermarket steel helical gear to suit the helical armature (part 52492). Replaces the original 51T straight-cut gear in the 1st intermediate gear assembly (Ref 16, 44985).
THE PROBLEM The newer helical armature won't mesh with the old straight-cut gear. RIDGID's only fix is a new 1st gear assembly (44985), and its pinion is also helical, so you then need a new 2nd intermediate gear assembly (44990) as well. This gear lets you replace just the front gear instead.
DO YOU NEED IT? Look at your armature pinion (photo 1). - Angled teeth: you need this gear. - Straight teeth: you don't. Your original gear will mesh.
FITS RIDGID 535 with the helical armature, 115V or 230V. Developed on a RIDGID 2357 (230V).
FITTING Gear only. Press the old gear off the shaft and press the new one on. Check it turns freely by hand before closing up.
